The Craziest Trade Deadline Ever

What a day so far and it is not even over yet. As most NFL fans know, the NFL trade deadline pales in comparison with other major sports. MLB and NBA both have exciting deadlines with major stars being shipped across those respective leagues, but normally, the NFL just doesn't have the same mustard or pizzaz. Well folks, that notion completely changed over the last 48 hours. Let's dive into it.
While it happened last week, the Bills Mafia traded Marcell Dareus to the Jacksonville Jaguars in a surprise move that even shocked Dareus himself. The former 3rd overall pick and All-Pro will notably make Sacksonville's D even better, especially the run defense. The fact that they only gave up a six-round pick is a steal and this trade has immense upside potential and limited risk.
Probably in the biggest news until today, the Patriots shipped off Jimmy G, the heir apparent, to the Niners for a 4th round pick. I love this trade for a few reasons, which are mostly selfish. This can finally end the rumors of Kirk Cousins reuniting with Kyle Shanahan in San Fran. Also, this probably means the eventual decline of the Patriots. Tommy Brady is old as dirt and doesn't have many years left, so after he's gone, who's gonna be under center? In my opinion, when Brady goes, so does Belicheck. That wasn't the only big trade last night. The Texans shipped Duane Brown back to Seattle. The Pro Bowl- Offensive Tackle will bolster the Seahawks' line and out of all the trades so far, the Texans got the most in return. Seattle is sending cornerback Jeremy Lane and a 2018 fifth round pick and a 2019 second round pick. The Texans easily won this trade. They got a lot back in return for a player who just ended his contract hold out last week, so it is easy to see why they made this deal.
Finally, the Dolphins have been the most active sellers today. Before we get into that, I told you the Ravens would cover the spread and win over the Phins last Thursday and boy, they did not disappoint. Today saw the Phins ship of Jay Ajayi to the Eagles and I really hate this trade because the NFC East ramifications. The Eagles already look legit and if Ajayi returns to his former form, it's gonna be bad for the rest of the NFC East. Now, it looks like Jarvis Landry might be on the outs from Miami and it will be very interesting to see where he ends up. Who knows who else will be traded to new teams, but no matter what, this has been the most exciting NFL trade deadline ever and we still have till 4 PM.
